Good sot to watch the Sunset.

We did not stay in this Hotel, we only visited the bar/terrace for a drink. The bar has an exceptional view onto the Arabian Sea at the mouth of the Periyar River. This is a great place to chill out and watch the sunset while you observe the boats sailing in and out of the river. The Hotel is built on the perfect spot. I of course do not know how the service is for an inhouse hotel guest but I will comment that the bar/terrace woud eally benefit from a good dose of Managment. Over our several visits we thought it looked a liitle like a staff social club. Having said all that, if you are in Kochi this is a great place for a late afternoon drink.

We had the best room, with a fabulous sea view, but otherwise it was not a pleasant stay. The reception staff were rather awkward, maybe a language problem. The shower did not drain and the bathmat grubby. Breakfast was a non event,we never got our chai! We were lucky to find a room in a proper hotel elsewhere.

This hotel apart from its location, is the worst that an accommodation can be. Nothing works, filthy housekeeping, dirty linens, broken bathroom fixtures, dirty room and washroom, pathetic stale food, old worn out furniture, noisy, genset or power backup not working , no hot water in the washroom, infact there was no water supply itself in the hotel. Staff least bothered about anything. Most rundown place one can ever see. Highly disappointing and disgusting.

The character of this heritage property has changed. it used to be a calm tranquil oasis away from the hustle of Fort Cochin and the clientele were mostly repeat visitors from far away lands. keeping up with the trends in Fort Cochin, more emphasis has been placed on the bar by the new management and thus the old ambiance has been shattered. lovely place to watch the sunset, now less silence but more clinking of glasses

They were extremely accommodation and allowed us to check in at like 10am. We got to hotel super early and i didnt wanna wait. So this was a big plus. The service was exceptional as well. Would definitely recommend our friends and family..love you all...
